Mood & Journal Data

Mood patterns and streaks derived from your entries

App Usage Data

Creature unlocks and achievements within the app
AI-generated landscape images based on your mood
Your privacy and encryption preferences

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your location or GPS data
We do not use analytics or tracking services
We do not display advertisements
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide the service: Store your mood entries, generate personalized insights, and create mood-based landscape art
To generate AI insights: Your mood patterns (not raw journal text) are processed by AI to provide weekly emotional insights and personalized recommendations
To track your progress: Calculate streaks, unlock creatures, and show mood trends over time
To authenticate you: Verify your identity when you sign in

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Moodscape:

Supabase — Database hosting, authentication, and file storage. Your data is stored securely with row-level security, meaning only you can access your own data.
Google Sign-In — Optional authentication method. We only receive your email and basic profile information.
Anthropic (Claude AI) — Generates emotional insights based on aggregated mood patterns. No personally identifiable information is sent to this service.

5. Data Security

All data is protected by row-level security — only you can access your data
You can enable end-to-end encryption for your journal notes
Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device
All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as you have an active account. You can:

Delete individual mood entries at any time
Delete your entire account, which permanently removes all your data from our servers

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access all data we store about you
Delete your data and account at any time
Opt out of AI-generated insights
Enable or disable note encryption

8. Children's Privacy

Moodscape is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email.
